Boyd 1 Backpack Camp (max capacity 8) is located at the edge of an oak-studded knoll with a beautiful buckeye tree, approx. 275' from the Ohlone Trail, 18.6 mi. from Sunol and 2.0 mi. from Del Valle. Water is 1500' away, boil/filter/treat before use. Toilet is 300' away.

OHLONE WILDERNESS PERMIT (good for a year): everyone 12 years and older must have their own permit ($2.50 with a Visa or MasterCard online or by mail, or $2 during open hours at the Coyote Hills Visitor Center in Fremont, Del Valle Park in Livermore, Sunol Visitor Center, or Reservations Office in Oakland ). NO dogs. NO alcohol. NO vehicles including bicycles.

All cars must display valid overnight parking pass on dash: passes should be requested at time of reservation and are mailed 5-7 days in advance. PARK GATES are locked at night; late arrivals will not be able to get in. Closing times vary, check with park staff.

* Reservations must be completed and paid in full 5 working days prior to your arrival date or 3 days prior if picking up parking passes/permits. * Please specify where you plan to park your vehicle. You must sign-in and sign-out to use the Ohlone Wilderness Trail where it crosses SF Water Department land and connects Mission Peak, Sunol Ohlone and Del Valle Parks.
