Area

Smallwood State Park launch area will be closed on Saturday, August 16, 2014 and Sunday, August 17, 2014 for the Smallwood Triathlon until 6 p.m.

FACILITY USE:
You are reserving for Smallwood State Park located in Charles county in Marbury MD. This is NOT Fort Smallwood county Park part of Anne Arundel County Parks in Pasadena MD.

GOLDEN AGE PASS:
Persons 62 years of age and older with Maryland Park Service Golden Age Pass are entitled to half-price camping Sunday-Thursday, excluding holidays. Display of Golden Age Pass will be required upon check-in. Additional service charges will be applied is unable to provide proof of valid pass. Golden Age Pass requires a $10 fee. SPECIFIC CAMPGROUND INFORMATION:

  • Campsites include a picnic table and fire ring with grill.
  • Portable generators are not permitted.
  • Check in time is 3:00 pm; check out time is 1:00 pm.
  • Arrival and Set Up: The security gate closes at Sunset. All campers are advised to arrive prior to Sunset. Registration and/or set up is not permitted during quiet hours. The gate combination will be provided after the reservation has been made.
  • Quiet Hours: Quiet hours in the campground are from 11:00 pm until 7:00 am.
  • All camping equipment must be confined to the camping pad and driveway.
  • Maximum of two camping units and 6 people permitted on each campsite. Two vehicles are permitted at each site. Trucks, cars and trailers each count as a vehicle. Additional vehicles must be parked in one of the campground overflow lots.
  • Pets are permitted at the campsites. Must be leashed and under the owners control at all times, and not left unattended.
  • CAMP FIRES are permitted only in the fire ring provided, and NOT left unattended.
  • There is a central bathhouse in the camping loop.
  • Camping permit may be cancelled and any person or group may be required to leave the park for violation of park rules and regulations.
  • ALCOHOL POLICY:

    The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in the campground with the exception of interior areas of motorhomes.

    SWIMMING:
    Swimming is NOT permitted at Smallwood State Park.

    PRICING:
    Prices are subject to change without notice and reservation fees, as well as cancellation fees are non-refundable.

    SERVICE CHARGES:
    Camping guests are required to pay the applicable service charges to enter the park. The park service charge is $3 per vehicle during the week year round; and $3 per person on weekends and holidays from April through October. Out of state visitors add $2 to these charges.

    TRASH FREE:
    Maryland State Parks are 'Trash Free'. All trash generated by a group must be taken out by the group. Please bring sufficient large trash bags to accommodate the groups trash.

    MINIMUM STAY:
    There is a two night minimum weekend stay (Friday/Saturday) and a three night minimum stay on holiday weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday), Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.

    ARRIVAL AND SETUP:
    The security gate closes at Sunset. All campers are advised to arrive prior to Sunset. Registration and/or set up is not permitted during quiet hours (10:00 pm until 7:00 am). The gate combination will be provided after the reservation has been made. Internet reservations, please call the Reservation Call Center at 1-888-432-2267 to receive the gate combination.

    BOAT LAUNCH:
    The campsite rental charge covers the launching of only one boat per campsite per day. Arrivals prior to check in times are subject to the daily boat launch charge.

    FIREWOOD RESTRICTION:
    Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you from home when visiting a DNR property.

    WOODED PRIVATE SITE ON INSIDE LOOP. CLOSE TO MAIN CAMPGROUND ROAD, APPROXIMATLEY 48 FEET LONG. ROADWAY PROVIDES LEVEL ACCESS TO RESTROOMS FOR WHEEL CHAIR BOUND INDIVIDUALS.
