The open dates for this site (Safari Field A) is from Thursday, May 23, 2013 through Sunday, September 1, 2013. This site is open only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays nights. The site will be open on Sunday May 26, 2013 (Memorial Day Weekend) and on Sunday, September 1, 2013 (Labor Day Weekend). Site is closed Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays nights except for the above Sundays.

Site

Safari Site A is equal distance from the Jetty Area (fishing) and the main entrance to the campground. Safari Field regulations: Maximum number of units is 75. Minimum number of units for a group reservation is 20. The field is reservable from Thursday through Saturday nights only. Exceptions include: Sunday nights of Memorial Day weekend; 4th of July weekend; Labor Day weekend; and Columbus Day weekend. These can include Sunday. Check in time is 1pm on the first day of the field rental. No one (except the setup crew) will be allowed to register or go to the field until after 1 pm. Safari Campers must stop at the office and get their hangtags before proceeding to the field. Check out time is 3pm on the day of departure. Camping groups are allowed to make reservations for the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day only. No stand tent camping is allowed in the Safari Field. Each RV unit may set up 1 tent or screen house on their space for kids to sleep in or for equipment storage. A waiver for tent camping may be granted to certain youth groups (i.e. boy scouts, etc.) by the supervisor. Groups, however, must meet special conditions requested of them to use the field. Payment in full is expected 15 days before the reservation date. The Safari fields are for self-contained units only - no water or electricity is available for these sites. Safari Users are not to use the campground bathrooms.
