BUS RESERVATION INFORMATION:

  • Reservable Season: Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day
  • Check-in as early as 6:00 am and Check-out is at Sunset. Applies to bus reservations only, NOT Shelter reservations. Subject to change without notice.
  • No same day arrival reservations.
  • Maximum 10 bus reservations, Monday - Friday; Maximum 5 bus reservations on weekends and holidays.
  • Any vehicle over a 15 passenger van is considered a bus and will require a bus reservation.
  • Groups renting a shelter DO NOT need to make a bus reservation. Bus parking spaces provided at shelter parking area. If group has a shelter reservation they cannot check into the shelter until 10:00 am. Shelter groups are reminded that check-out for the shelter is Sunset.
  • Buses are required to park in the Marina Boat Parking Lot after dropping off visitors.
  • No Pets are allowed.
  • Picnic tables and grills are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bus reservation does not guarantee a picnic area.
  • Groups are responsible for the removal of all their trash and providing trash bags.
  • SWIMMING

    Swimming available at South Beach. A portion of South Beach is protected with Lifeguards from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm weekdays and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm weekends and holidays, weather permitting. Swimming is permitted when lifeguards are not on duty but is at your own risk. Swimming is allowed only within the roped swimming areas.

    SPECIFIC YOUTH GROUP INFORMATION

    A Youth Group must consist of a ratio of 1 adult (age 18 and older) per 5 children for non-water related activities. For water activities the 1-adult per 5-children ratio is strictly enforced.

    Youth Groups must present valid Youth Group Pass upon arrival at park, copy will not be accepted. Youth Group Pass number must be documented within reservation.

    Group leaders are responsible for the actions of their group and required to follow park rules and regulations posted on bulletin boards throughout the park. If group fails to comply, you will be asked to leave the park. No refunds will be given and future reservations may be cancelled.

    DAY-USE SERVICE CHARGES

    Bus reservation service charges are non-refundable.

    Admitted Free: Children buckled in safety seats; 62 or older with MD Golden Age Pass (Golden Age Pass requires a $10 fee). Information available at: http://dnr2.maryland.gov/publiclands/Pages/goldenage.aspx; and, persons with MD Universal Disability Pass are admitted free.

    Validated Youth Groups and Non-Profit Organizations should call the park (410.974.2149) for day-use service charge pricing information prior to visiting the park.

    With valid Youth Group Pass admittance is free up to 50 people. Any number over 50 is charged $3 per person, Monday-Friday. Youth Group Pass is not valid on weekends and holidays.

    TRASH:
    Maryland State Parks are TRASH Free. All trash generated by your group must be taken out by your group. Please bring large trash bags to accommodate your group's trash. Park personnel will not remove your trash.

    SPECIFIC INFORMATION:

    The parks beaches are among the finest on the Chesapeake Bay. A food concession is adjacent to south beach. Marina facility includes a concession that offers bait tackle and fuel. Rowboats/motorboats are available for rent.
