2013 Reservation/Transaction Fees:

In addition to the park facility use fee, there is a nightly reservation/transaction fee. Internet reservations, the per night fee is $4.56. Call Center, the per night fee is $4.61. Walk-In transactions at the park, the per night fee is $4.51. Reservation/Transaction Fees are Non-Refundable.


Cancellation Fee Policy Change-Effective May 1, 2013:

To better serve our Maryland Park Service customers, we are changing our cancellation policy to a reservation cancellation service charge of $6 per reservation; except for Assateague Island State Park, which will remain at $6 per night.

Description

Enjoy the rugged mountain beauty and solitude of 3,000-acre Rocky Gap State Park, home to Lake Habeeb, a year-round mecca for recreational activities including fishing, swimming, and boating (electric motors only). Hike along Rocky Gap Run as it winds its way through an impressive mile-long gorge with sheer cliffs, overlooks, and a hemlock forest dense with rhododendron. Great place for a family camping adventure!

Alerts and Important Information
Rocky Gap State Park is a trash-free area. Please help keep the park clean. Visitors are expected to take their trash with them when they leave. Campers may place their trash into the dumpsters located at the campground entrance.

Bicycle Helmets are required by Maryland State Law!!!

Helmets are required for everyone under the age of 16, including passengers, who ride their bicycles on the road, bicycle paths, or any public property. (TR § 21-1207.1)

Helmets are also required for everyone under the age of 16 who are riding on a scooter or on in-line skates. (TR § 21-1207.2)

The helmets must meet or exceed the standards of the American National Standards Institute, the Snell Memorial Foundation, or the American Society for Testing and Materials. (TR § 21-1207.1)
