RAINY LAKE GROUP CAMPSITE IS A BOAT-IN ONLY SITE. Wildlife frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers. Please bring garbage bags. This facility is "Pack it in. Pack it out." Minimum number of campers required to reserve this site is 14. Campers must check-in at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center by 2:00pm and get an overnight permit before camping. Bring your own drinking water or be prepared to treat water before drinking it. Bring garbage bags - this facility is a "Pack it in. Pack it out" campsite. Bear country - all food and garbage must be store in the metal food lockers provided. This site is accessible but may be reserved by anyone.

Site

This site is accessible only by boat. The site is 9 miles from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center by water. The site has 7 tent pads, 4 metal food lockers, 7 picnic tables, 1 enclosed unisex comfort station with vault toilet, docking for up to 10 boats, two fire rings, and scenic vistas. Most tent pads are 14' x 14', but some are smaller. All tents must be on tent pads. Gather only dead and downed wood away from the site's core area for firewood. To prevent the spread of exotic forest pests, do not bring firewood from outside the area. Minnesota State fishing license required to fish in the park. This site has a wheelchair accessible tent pad, fire ring, food locker, picnic table, and toilet. A lift for the dock is available to use; request in advance. Any organization that charges fees to its members must have a commercial use authorization permit from Voyageurs National Park before making a group site reservation.
