TO ACCESS THE GROUP CAMPSITES, YOU MUST DRIVE THROUGH THREE SHALLOW STREAM CROSSINGS. THERE ARE NO BRIDGES. DURING PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN THESE CAMPSITES ARE UNAVAILABLE. LOW CLEARANCE VEHICLES MAY HAVE DIFFICULTY CROSSING THE STREAMS.
Alcoholic beverages and fireworks are prohibited. Firearms are prohibited except for with the proper license.
These sites are intended for organized groups.
Pets are allowed except in park buildings, but they must be on a leash no longer than six feet and cannot be left unattended.
Upon arrival at the park, you will be charged $2.00 per person for every person over the minimum of 5 people. Maximum capacity for each site is 25 people.
Unlicensed vehicles, motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-aid devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes.
Provide your own firewood.
Bring your own drinking water
No entry after hours.
Park Hours Change with the seasons. Please be aware of gate hours. Gates are not opened if you arrive after closing time, regardless of whether you have a reservation. Campers are locked in once the gate closes until the following morning.
RIVER SECTION GATES CLOSE 1 HOUR EARLIER THAN THE MOUNTAIN SECTION.
January, February, November, December: 8:30 am-5pm March, April, May, September, October: 8:30 am-7pm June, July August: 8:30 am-8pm
Posted quiet hours are enforced. Building fires in undesignated areas is prohibited.
North Carolina state parks are wildlife sanctuaries; no hunting is allowed and collecting plants, minerals and artifacts is prohibited. State fishing regulations are enforced.
The site is 300 ft. from the road. You will have to carry your items in.
State vehicle and traffic laws are enforced, and the speed limit is 25 mph unless otherwise posted.
