DescriptionSeason for Peak Fees: 05/15 to 09/15Palomar Mountain State Park features spectacular views of the Pacific, camping, picnicking, hiking, and fishing (trout) in Doane Pond. Coniferous forests cover much of the 1,897 acres, in contrast with the dry lowlands surrounding the mountain. This is one of the few southern California areas with a Sierra Nevada-like atmosphere. Alerts and Important Information Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP). Palomar Mountain State Park is now Site Specific for reservations. You will choose your site at the time a reservation is made.
