Overview

North Holiday Park is situated on the banks of Benbrook Lake near Fort Worth, Texas. It is an excellent destination for picnicking, boating, swimming and fishing.

Fossil hunting is popular around Benbrook. About 85 million years ago, the area was covered by an ancient sea. Today, visitors enjoy searching for fossilized clams and corral.

Natural Features:

The picnic area is on the north end of Benbrook Lake near the dam. The lake is located in the Grand Prairie region of north-central Texas.

It sits on the Trinity River on the southwest edge of the Fort Worth metropolitan area.

Recreation:

Prevailing southwesterly winds on the lake attract avid windsurfers. Boating, swimming, hiking and fishing are also popular. The lake record for largemouth bass is over thirteen pounds. Other catches include carp, sunfish and flathead catfish.

Facilities:

This day-use park provides vault toilets and a boat ramp.

Nearby Attractions:

Baseball fields, horseback rentals and golfing are offered not too far from the picnic area.

The Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District is enjoyable, as is the Fort Worth Zoo.
