Morro Bay State Park features lagoon and natural bay habitat. The bay's most prominent landmark is Morro Rock. The park has opportunities for sailing fishing, hiking, and bird watching. The park museum has exhibits that cover natural features and cultural history, Native American life, geology, and oceanography. The park also has a colorful marina and an 18-hole public golf course. On the bay's northeast edge is a pristine saltwater marsh that supports a thriving bird population.

Park Kiosk Hours:

  • Hi Season: 8am-9pm
  • Lo Season: 8am-4pm

Alerts and Important Information
Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.

Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP).

Do not confuse this park with Morro Strand

  • Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park with a maximum of 3 vehicles per site; developed or hookup. This includes trailers and other towed vehicles.
  • Overflow parking available for additional charge per night.
  • The site is limited to 8 people
  • To book a Group site you must have at least 9 occupants.
  • Reservations available year round.

    • Getting There:

    Morro Bay SP is located in Morro Bay, just off Highway One.
    The Museum of Natural History is in the park. Drive about one mile, past the campground and the marina, then turn left into the museum parking lot.
