Description

LeFleur's Bluff provides a lush green spot in the heart of urban Jackson. In addition to camping, fishing, picnic spots and nature trails, the 305-acre park features a nine-hole golf course and a driving range. The park is named for Louis LeFleur, a French-Canadian explorer who established a trading post on the banks of the Pearl River in the late 1700s. The city of Jackson was originally known as "LeFleur's Bluff". Today Mississippi's vibrant capital city combines the earth and charm of its rich cultural heritage with exciting activities and attractions and contemporary lifestyles. Visitors to Jackson discover a diversity of museums, unlimited shopping and dining, an exciting night life and a calendar of events packed with activities to suit every mood. Alerts and Important Information

Mayes Lake Campground is subject to flooding during heavy rains due to its location along the Pearl River. Park officials are notified by the National Weather Service and Ross Barnett Reservoir Patrol in the event of possible flooding. DO NOT FOLLOW GPS. Even Google links associated with this page will lead you to the wrong location. Please call the office for directions at 601-987-3923 or follow directions under Getting There.

No pets are allowed in villas or any other park building.

Must be 21 years of age to reserve facilities.

No alcohol allowed.

No firearms allowed.

Campground roads are white slag gravel - May change soon

Campground gate is locked 8:00p.m. until 8:00a.m. Lock codes are given to camping guests.

In the event of cancellation, penalties may apply. Mississippi State Parks now utilizes a voucher system for any balance due to customers. You will not receive a refund. Please read the cancellation policy located on the "Checkout Shopping Cart" page prior to checking Yes in the acknowledgement box.

Take Exit 98B off Interstate 55 at Lakeland Drive and turn North/East.

For Mississippi Natural Science Museum/Children's Museum/Kids Zone, day use, and Lefleurs Office turn right at first light. For Mayes Lake Campground and Pavilions turn right at second light by Shell/Sprint Mart. Entrance to Golf Course is between the lights.
