Overview

Lakeside Campground is located on the picturesque Prosser Reservoir, in the Tahoe National Forest. It is just 10 minutes from Truckee. Visitors enjoy the area for its boating, canoeing, fishing and abundant hiking and off-road trails.

Natural Features:

The campground is situated on the northwestern shore of the reservoir, in an open area with scattered pine and fir trees. Some sites have limited shade, while others are in full sun. Many sites have views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains.

Recreation:

Prosser Reservoir is a popular location for canoeing, swimming and fishing. Power boating is allowed but a 10-mph speed limit is enforced. A boat ramp is located less than a mile from the campground at Prosser Ranch Group Campground.

The surrounding area offers many hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicle trails.

Facilities:

The campground offers single-family campsites, a few of which are designated for tent camping only. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided.

Nearby Attractions:

Boca Reservoir is 30 minutes east of the campground, offering additional boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing opportunities.

Lake Tahoe is located 30 minutes south. Tahoe offers excellent boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking and scenic driving opportunities, as well as dining, shopping and lodging options.

Know Before You Go

In accordance with standard industry practices, Tahoe Recreation will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the "second vehicle" in each single family campsite, and on the "third and fourth vehicle" in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
An additional $2 per day fee is charged for reservations during Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends
Off-road vehicle use is prohibited within the campground

From Truckee, take Interstate 80 to Highway 89. Turn onto Highway 89 and travel north for about 5 miles, then turn right at the Prosser sign. Continue just over a mile to the campground.
