Description

Lake Francis is a 2,000-acre lake near the Connecticut Lakes of the Great North Woods region. Hunters and anglers enjoy this park as a base for their respective activities. A boat launch is located in the park. Canoeists enjoy exploring the upper part of the Connecticut River.

SITE FEE COVERS 2 ADULTS AND UP TO 4 CHILDREN. FOR ALL ADDITIONAL ADULTS A FEE OF $10 PER NIGHT AND FOR ALL ADDITIONAL CHILDREN FEES OF $5 PER NIGHT ARE TO BE PAID UPON ARRIVAL.



Lake Francis has 7 lakefront sites and 2 non-lakefront with water and electric hook up. (sites 13 through 21)


No hook-ups at other sites



Sites accommodate a maximum of 6 people, combination of adults and children with no more than 4 adults per site.
Payment at time of reservation covers 2 adults and up to 4 children. Additional adults and children pay at check in.

Site 38 through 41 are walk to tent platform sites and lake view

After Columbus Day Weekend, the campground is open for a short time with limited facilities. There is no water during this time. Electricity does stay on after Columbus day.

Getting There:

For Lake Francis:

From I-93: Exit 36 onto Route 3 North. Follow Route 3 to Pittsburg. Follow signs to Lake Francis State Park. From I-95: Take Route 16 west to Route 26 west to Route 3 in Colebrook. On route 3 follow signs to Lake Francis State Park.

For the Watchtower Cabin: Go 4.7 miles beyond the First Connecticut dam and take a right on Magalloway Road. Go 5.3 miles and take a right at the Tower sign. Follow the main road about 2.5 miles and park in the lot off to the side. The trail is clearly marked to the top.
