Directions to Kimball Point:
From I-85, take exit 223 (Manson Rd). Take Manson Rd west approximately 2 miles to the Drewry crossroads. Turn right at Drewry onto Drewry Va Line Rd and go for about 5.25 miles. Turn left onto Kimball Point Rd and follow about 1.25 miles to the park entrance.

Alcoholic beverages, firearms(including fireworks) and other weapons are prohibited.

Shelter Rental Periods:
November - February: Check In: 8:00 a.m., Check Out: 6:00 p.m.
March -April and September - October: Check In: 8:00 a.m., Check Out: 8:00 p.m.
May - August: Check In 8:00 a.m., Check Out 9:00 p.m.

There is a $6.00 charge per car and is not included in the rental fee; $4.00 for seniors. Fees apply weekends in April, May and September, then everyday from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The person making the reservation shall be liable for maintaining the good condition of the shelter and agrees to pay all fees and damage costs arising from the group's occupancy of the shelter. He/she shall ensure that the group complies with park rules, regulations and conditions of the rental.
Pets are allowed except in park buildings and swim areas, but they must be on a leash no longer than six feet and cannot be left unattended.
Please make sure that all trash and other debris in and immediately around the shelter is picked up and disposed of properly.
Special Activity Permits shall be required for special events like weddings, competitive events, festivals, inflatable bouncers, etc. Please contact park office for more information.
Unlicensed vehicles, motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-aid devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes.



A NC or VA freshwater fishing license is required to fish in Kerr Lake. Henderson Point and Bullocksville have fishing piers. Fishing is allowed from the shore except within defined swim areas.
Gates lock at specific hours posted upon entering the park throughout the year.

Kerr Lake SRA Hours:
November - February: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
March - April and September - October: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
May - August: 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Closed Christmas Day. Gates close and lock at specific hours throughout the year. Check with the entrance station upon your arrival on gate closing.
Some areas are closed during the off-season.
North Carolina state park rules and regulations are posted in each park and enforced by rangers. Violating these rules and regulations is a misdemeanor and may result in a fine and revocation of permit.
Unprotected area. No lifeguards on duty. Never swim alone and wear a life jacket when swimming or boating.
State vehicle and traffic laws are enforced, and the speed limit is 25 mph unless otherwise posted. Watch for pedestrians, bicyclists and wildlife.
North Carolina state parks are wildlife sanctuaries; no hunting is allowed and collecting plants, minerals and artifacts is prohibited.
State fishing regulations are enforced.
