JUNIPER SPRINGS REC AREA (FL), FL

Description

No full hook-ups sites. Shaded sites. Paved roads and paved level parking pads. Tent space available on all sites. All sites with picnic table, BBQ grill, fire ring and lantern post. Hot showers, flush toilets and baby change comfort change station, dump station public telephone equipped with email modem, hiking trail, natural springs for swimming, canoe rentals for 7 1/2 mile canoe run through the Juniper Prairie Wilderness Area, convenience store with camping supplies, beach supplies, personal items, food, drinks and ice cream. Restaurants, shopping and gas 10 miles from campground. Abundant wildlife viewing consists of alligators, turtles, deer, black bear, turkey, raccoons, and numerous species of birds. Interpretive programs during summer months.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
Tax included in fees.
2 night minimum stay on weekends.
3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends.
The campground gate is closed and locked from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. If arriving after 8:OO PM, you must call ahead at (352)625-3147 prior to 6:00 PM. No one will be admitted after 9:30 PM due to quiet hours starting at 10 PM
Camp sites must be occupied first night.
Maximum of 5 persons and 2 vehicles per site. Extra vehicles must park in overflow/overnight parking area at $10.00 per vehicle, per night.
Check out time is 1:00 PM. Visitors who stay beyond this time will be charged another days fee.
No refund for inclement weather.
No ATV's or off road vehicles may be operated within the campground. CAUTION: Bears/Raccoons frequent the area. All foods must be kept in containers.
Only half the sites at this complex are reservable and there may be sites still available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Only one campsite may be rented at a time using the Golden Age/Access Card for the Discount Price. Dogs are allowed. Pets are allowed on a leash on all campsites. PETS NOT ALLOWED IN SWIMMING/PICNIC AREA. For Canoe Rental information please call (352) 625-2808

From I-75 take Hwy 40 East thru Ocala and Silver Springs approximately 36 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area. From I-95 take the Ocala/Silver Springs Exit (Hwy 40) west for approximately 37 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area. From the Intersection of Hwy 40 and Hwy 19 the campground is located 4 1/2 miles west on Hwy 40. The entrance is on the north side of Hwy 40.
