Alerts and Important Information

Site

New Hope - is located on W.H. Jones Road, five miles west of US 1 and 7 miles east of US 64.
Alcoholic beverages, firearms and fireworks, and other weapons are prohibited.
Limit of two tents and six people per site. Camping equipment should not be left unattended for more than 12 hours.
Firewood is available for sale at the park. No collecting of dead wood lying on the ground. Do not cut live trees or limbs from trees.
Building fires in undesignated areas is prohibited.
Gates close and lock at specific hours throughout the year. No entry or exit is permitted after closing except for law enforcement or medical emergencies. Gate hours are:
November - February: 8 AM to 6 PM;
March, April, September & October: 8 AM to 8 PM;
May - August: 8 AM to 9 PM;
Closed Christmas Day.

Pets are allowed except in park buildings and swim areas, but they must be on a leash no longer than six feet and cannot be left unattended.
Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM and are strictly enforced.
Unlicensed vehicles, motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-air devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes.

Notes

Site

"Primitive" means hike to campsites (no vehicles), no electricity, restrooms are mulch toilets (no running water) and the only water source is communal located in front of each mulch toilet.
New Hope campsites do close during the winter months. Call park office or visit web site for more information.
All of New Hope's primitive campsites are walk-in only and cannot be reserved online or through the call center.
When fishing, a North Carolina resident or non-resident fishing license is required.
Gates close and lock at specific hours throughout the year. Check with the entrance station upon your arrival about gate closing.
No lifeguards on duty - swim at your own risk.
North Carolina State Park rules and regulations are posted in each park and enforced by rangers. Violating these rules and regulations is a misdemeanor and may result in a fine and revocation of permit.
State vehicle and traffic laws are enforced. Park speed limit is 25 mph unless otherwise posted. Watch for pedestrians, bicyclists and wildlife.
North Carolina State Parks are wildlife sanctuaries; no hunting is allowed and collecting plants, minerals and artifacts is prohibited. State fishing regulations are enforced.
