Distance to this yurt: When the snow is gone from US Forest Service Rd 025M (usually mid May through late November) you can drive 1.25 miles with minimal elevation gain (one way) to the summer parking area. You will park off the road prior to the green gate, then hike past the green gate another 300 yards to the yurt.
When snow is on US Forest Service Rd 025M, Pilgrim Loop and Lower Lamar Trail (usually late Nobember through mid May) you will park in the Whoop-Um-Up Park N Ski area, then ski or snowshoe in 1.75 miles (one way) with 150 ft elevation gain to the yurt.
