Elkhorn Yurt does not allow dogs from Dec 1st through April 15th. All other times dogs are welocme at this yurt.
Distance to this yurt: When the snow is gone from Elkhorn loop (usually late May through late November) you can drive 2.2 miles with 750 ft elevation gain (one way) to the summer parking area. You will park then hike 1 mile (one way) with 100 ft elevation gain to the yurt. A high clearance vehicle is recommended.
When snow is on Elkhorn loop (usually late November to late May) you will park in the Banner Ridge Park N Ski parking area, then ski or snowshoe in 3.2 miles (one way) with 850 ft elevation gain to the yurt.
