Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park features 15 miles of hiking and riding trails through a forest that looks much the same as it did 200 years ago. Zayante Indians once lived in the area, where they found shelter, water and game. The park is the home of the Redwood grove, with a self-guided nature path, and Douglas fir, madrone, oak and the most unusual feature of the park, a stand of Ponderosa pine. The park has a picnic area above the San Lorenzo River. Anglers fish for steelhead and salmon during the winter. The Park has a nature center, bookstore and campfire center. Park Kiosk Hours:

Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP).
Getting There:Henry Cowell Redwoods SP is located South of Felton, on Graham Hill Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains.Exit from Highway 17 in Scotts Valley at the Mt. Hermon Road exit, go through Scotts Valley and continue on Mt. Hermon Road to Graham Hill Road. Turn left on Graham Hill Road, turn right into the Henry Cowell campground. The Day Use area is located near the town of Felton just off Highway 9. From Mt. Hermon Road, turn right on Graham Hill Road and then left on Highway 9. Drive South on Hwy 9 through Felton (approximately 1 mile) to the Day Use park entrance.
