HARRINGTON BEACH STATE PARK, WIStatus: Closed through Tue May 04 2010 Season Dates Max reservation window: Thu Oct 21 2010 Later Dates DescriptionHarrington Beach State Park is located along the shore of Lake Michigan in Ozaukee County. The park encompasses about 702 acres, including one mile of wide, sandy beach, a scenic 25-acre quarry lake, an 80-acre white cedar lowland forest, and a 300-acre upland area affording a panoramic view of Lake Michigan and excellent birdwatching opportunities. There is a one-half mile interpretive nature trail, a hiking trail around Quarry Lake, a historical trail highlighting the history of the :Stonehaven" mining community once located in the park, and about two miles of cross country ski trails. Quarry Lake and Puckett's Pond provide fishing opportunities for trout, smallmouth bass, and panfish. There are four picnic areas overlooking Lake Michigan and two near Quarry Lake. All of the picnic areas are equipped with tables and grills, and the South Picnic Area has an open picnic shelter and sand volleyball court. Pets are allowed in certain areas of the park. Alerts and Important InformationFirewood is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park or Forest properties from out of state or from more than fifty miles away from the property you are going to. Also, firewood that has been in the Wisconsin EAB quarantined area is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood nearby or at the property you are going to. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline 1-877-303-WOOD (9663) for information before packing up for a trip. Water will be turned off the week of October 18th, 2009. This will affect the whole water system including the dump station, potable water fill, drinking fountains, showers and flush toilets. Winter water supply is available at the North end of the toilet/shower building. You will need to provide you own hose to fill. From I-43, take exit 107 (Belgium/Lake Church) and go east on County Highway D about 1 mile. The park entrance will be on your right.
