BEACH SWIM AREA
Hammerman Area offers 1500 feet of beach and swimming area on the banks of the Gunpowder River. Lifeguards are on duty at the swimming area from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Swimming is permitted at your own risk when lifeguards are not on duty. Lifeguard hours are subject to change. Call 410-592-2897 to confirm.
No amplified music; NO DJ's permitted.
Moon Bounces: Moon Bounces are permitted but you must contact the Park at 410-592-2897 two weeks prior to arrival date to obtain 'Use Agreement'.
SERVICE CHARGES:
In addition to the Shelter charge, there is a service charge to enter the Park. All visitors are subject to the day-use service charge.
Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekends $5 per person. Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekdays $3 per person. Labor Day to Memorial Day $3 per vehicle. Out-of-State residents add an additional $2 to these charges.
Persons 62 years of age or older WITH Maryland Golden Age Pass and children in car seats are free. Golden Age Pass requires a $10 fee. Information available at: http://dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/goldenage.asp

SHELTER AMENITIES:
Waterview. ADA Accessible. Paved access from parking lot to Shelter. Easy access for caterer. 3 Grills. Drinking water available at or next to Shelter. Electricity 40 amps. Ballfield nearby. In sight of playground. 140 parking spaces. Distance from Shelter to beach swim area approx 100 yards.
ALCOHOL POLICY:
The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins, motorhomes, and designated shelters. Permits may be issued upon request by the Park Manager for special events operating under a use agreement.
Alcohol permits will only be issued through a reservation for a designated shelter, or other approved facility. A $35 non-refundable fee will be charged for each alcohol permit. Permits may be revoked for cause by Park Manager, their designee or a Natural Resources Police Officer.
Internet shelter reservations requiring an alcohol permit will need to contact the Call Center at 1-888-432-2267, Mon-Fri, 8 am - 8 pm to make your reservation.

FIREWOOD RESTRICTION:
Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you from home when visiting a DNR property.

SHELTER USE & IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
TRASH FREE:
The Park is "Trash-Free". Bring your own large trash bags along with your other picnic supplies. All trash must be removed from the Park. Recycle/Reuse/Reduce.
PARK HOURS:
The Park is open until Sunset. Check with Park staff for official Sunset time. Visitors using the Shelter must leave by Sunset.
PRICING:
Prices are subject to change without notice and reservation fees, as well as cancellation fees are non-refundable.
VEHICLES:
Vehicles are not permitted at the Shelter area without prior approval of a Park Ranger. If you need to drive to the Shelter to unload supplies, request permission upon your arrival.
