Beach Restoration at Grand Isle State Park: The Corps of Engineers are currently restoring all beaches on Grand Isle. Although we do not expect work to begin on Grand Isle State Park's beach until after the summer months, the Office of State Parks cannot guarentee that there will be beach access during your stay.
NO BEACH ACCESS DURING THE REBUILDING OF COAST: The Army Corp of Engineers will be pumping sand back onto the beach of Grand Isle State Park. The timeline for levee repairs are roughly between late August to the beginning of November. This is a Federal Corps of Engineers project. For the duration of this project there will be no beach access, possibly no fishing and there will be noise throughout the day and night. We apologize for the inconvenience.
