GLACIER BASIN CAMPGROUND (CO), CO

Description

Glacier Basin Campground will have sites in Loop C, Loop D, and the Group Loop available by reservation for the 2010 season.
Sites in Loop A and Loop B will be available on a first-come-first-served basis for the 2010 season.
Glacier Basin Campground is located in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

Camping in Rocky Mountain National Park is limited to 7 days from June 1 through September 30.

One RV or One RV and one towed vehicle or Tent Trailer/Trailer and one vehicle, and/or two Tents allowed per site.

Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire grate, and tent pad. All tents must be placed on the tent pad.

Fires are only allowed in the fire grates and must never be left unattended. Gathering of firewood and fire-starting materials is prohibited. Firewood and ice are available for purchase during the summer months.

There are NO hookups in the campground.

There are no shower or laundry facilities in the campground. Portable showers are prohibited. Showers are available in the town of Estes Park.

Rocky Mountain National Park is bear country. Deer, elk, raccoons, and skunks are also year-around residents. All food, pet food, cooking utensils, and other scented items must be stored in a vehicle or in food storage boxes located in the campground.

It is illegal to approach or feed wildlife.

The use of fireworks and firearms are prohibited in the park.

The use of skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and other similar devices is prohibited.

Service sinks are available at the comfort stations for washing dishes. If dishes are washed at a campsite, the waste/gray water must be disposed of in a service sink.

RV sewage and wastewater tanks must be emptied at the dump station.

Pets allowed, but when outside of a vehicle or camping unit, they must be leashed on a lead no longer than 6'. Pets cannot be left unattended in vehicles or campsites. Pets are not allowed on trails. Please clean up after your pet.

Quiet hours are from 10:00P.M. to 6:00A.M. Generator Hours are 7:30A.M.-10:00AM. and 4:00P.M. to 8:30P.M. External Generators must be quiet. C Loop is a Generator Free area.

A separate park entrance fee of $20 per private vehicle applies. This fee covers entrance to the park for the date of purchase and the next 6 days.

If using a Golden Age or Golden Access Passport or Interagency Senior or Access Pass for a camping fee discount, the pass must be presented upon check-in.

Take Highway 36 west from Estes Park, CO or Highway 34 east from Grand Lake, CO. Off the main park road take the Bear Lake Road, which is near the Beaver Meadows Entrance Station, and follow the signs to the campground. Glacier Basin Campground in approximately 9 miles from Estes Park and 5 miles from the Beaver Meadows Entrance Station.
