Fredericksburg / Washington DC S. KOA, VA

Description

Civil War buffs have a field day near this quiet countryside spot in the woods near I-95. Four of the war's most significant historic battles were fought here. Marked paths and roadways, audiovisual aids and tours help fill in the details as you walk or drive along the battlefields. Scores of original Colonial buildings have been preserved from the 18th and 19th centuries in the town of Fredericksburg, which was George Washington's boyhood home. Kings Dominion amusement park, championship golf courses and lots of great shopping lie within a half-hours drive. Washington, D.C. is about an hour north. Easy access to VRE or Metro trains, that head into the heart of the capital, where tours are available. So come and check in for some history. George Washington slept here, why not you?
