YOUTH GROUP CAMPING:
Groups without a valid Maryland Youth Group Pass, please call the park at 301-842-2155, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm for reservation. Groups without a valid Maryland Youth Group Pass will be charged an additional $3 per person/per night.
CAMPGROUND:
Fort Frederick State Park family campground is open for the 2012 season. Campsites are first come, first serve. $15/per night, $1 additional for out-state. Winter camping available for self contained recreational vehicles only.
2013 Reservation/Transaction Fees:
In addition to the park facility use fee, there is a nightly reservation/transaction fee. Internet reservations, the per night fee is $4.56. Call Center, the per night fee is $4.61. Walk-In transactions at the park, the per night fee is $4.51. Reservation/Transaction Fees are Non-Refundable.
Cancellation Fee Policy Change-Effective May 1, 2013: To better serve our Maryland Park Service customers, we are changing our cancellation policy to a reservation cancellation service charge of $6 per reservation; except for Assateague Island State Park, which will remain at $6 per night. DescriptionStep back in time as you're surrounded by the largest stone fort ever built by the British Colonies. The historic stone fort stood as a key to Maryland's frontier defense during the French and Indian War. Fort Frederick was built in 1756 and has been painstakingly restored. Historic displays are inside the Fort, barracks and Visitor Centers. The park annually holds military reenactments and other special events. Its lands adjoin the Potomac River and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal passes through it. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important Information ALCOHOL POLICY:
The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins and motorhomes. Alcohol permits will only be issued through a reservation for a designated shelter, or other approved facility. A $35 fee will be charged for each alcohol permit. Permits may be revoked for cause by Park Manager, their designee or a Natural Resources Police Officer. Internet shelter reservations requiring an alcohol permit will need to contact the Call Center at 1-888-432-2267, Mon-Fri, 8 am - 8 pm to make your reservation.
