ALL (2) OverviewElrod Ferry is a summer day-use area located at Hartwell Lake, one of the southeast's largest and most popular public recreation areas. The facility is positioned on a narrow peninsula which extends onto Hartwell Lake, providing sweeping views of the 56,000-acre lake and offering an ideal setting for a party, barbecue or simply a day of water activities with the family.Natural Features:Hartwell Lake is a man-made lake bordering Georgia and South Carolina on the Savannah, Tugaloo and Seneca Rivers. The dam and lake areas boast nine campgrounds and 15 day-use facilities that are operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Recreation:Boating and water sports top the list of popular activities. A boat ramp is available for visitors' convenience, and three designated swimming beaches are located around the facility. Facilities:Elrod Ferry offers multiple picnic areas, complete with shelters, flush toilets and playgrounds. Parking is available on-site.
