Pet Policy: Campers are not allowed to leave pets unattended in the campground. Pets are not allowed to run at large. All animals shall be kept on a leash not to exceed 6 feet in length. Pets must be kept quiet.
Equestrian trails may be closed for a period of time when rainfall or other natural events have created conditions that will cause the trail to degrade if further use is allowed. Equestrian trail closures will be posted on the Iowa DNR website at www.iowadnr.gov Enter "closure information" in the site search box located right above the "Inside DNR " tab. (http://www.iowadnr.gov/Destinations/StateParksRecAreas/ClosureInformation.aspx) For current trail status information, campers should check the DNR website when making a “last minute” reservation or before leaving for the park for their camping stay.
Equestrian Trail Closure Policy for Campers with Reservations ONLY:
If staff close the equestrian trails the day before your arrival date or on the day of your arrival, you can cancel your reservation per the standard cancellation policy or you may change your reservation per the change policy and pay a change fee. Water and Shower/Restroom Availability: Park staff generally try to have the water on and shower buildings and dump stations open by mid April. Park staff generally start closing down shower buildings and turning off water and dump stations around mid-October depending upon the weather. If you are interested in camping in early April or later in October, there is no guarantee modern facilities will be available.

Cancellations the day before arrival will result in a forfeiture of one night's camping fee plus the cancellation fee. Cancellations on the arrival date will result in a forfeiture of two night's camping plus the cancellation fee.
Change Policy: A $5 change fee applies. The last day to change a reservation is 4 days prior to arrival if paying by credit/debit card and 21 days prior to arrival if paying by check.
