Firewood Notice: PLEASE DO NOT BRING FIREWOOD FROM OUT OF STATE!
If you are planning to camp during an upcoming trip to Colorado, please help protect our public lands by buying local firewood near your destination campground. Firewood can spread harmful insect pests and diseases. ALERT: We are planning a major road renovation project in the spring of 2014. In order to minimize the disruption and get as much work completed as quickly as possible, camp sites in Rocky Ridge, North Shore and the Backcountry will only be available on a first-come, first-served basis until we have a firm construction schedule for repaving in these areas. We expect to have all road work completed by July 1, 2014.
Roads will be re-gravelled on the south side of the reservoir at Witcher's Cove, Howbert Point, Rocking Chair, Lazy Boy and Cross Creek, in the Spring of 2014, but sites in those locations can be reserved up to six months in advance for arrivals beginning May 9, 2014 and any site that is not reserved is available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the winter.
Visitors should expect noise and short delays during construction, which will be limited to daylight hours in May and June.
