Doheny State Beach is two parks in one - with camping in the south area (with some campsites only steps away from the beach) and day use in northern area, where there is a five-acre lawn with picnic facilities and volleyball courts. Surfing is popular, but is restricted to the north end beach. Surf fishing is also popular. The beach is near Dana Point Harbor and is three miles from San Juan Capistrano Mission.

Alerts and Important Information
Dana Point 10 K & 5K Turkey Trot will take place on November 22, 2012. On this day, campers will not be permitted to drive vehicles in or out of the campground from 6:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The park will be open for all vehicle traffic at 11 a.m.
The Doheny Blues Festival will take place on May 18 - 19, 2013. Campers may experience loud music, large crowds and possible traffic delays.
The Doheny Days Music Festival will take place on September 7 - 8, 2013. Campers may experience loud music, large crowds and possible traffic delays. This large special event will take place in the north day-use lawn area.
The Rainbow Sandals Battle of the Paddle SUP Race will take place on September 28 - 29, 2013. Campers and park visitors will experience large crowds and possible traffic delays.
Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.
Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP).

Doheny is a beach-level campground. Loss of beach sand from high tidal events and large waves can cause certain portions of the campground to flood, usually the beachfront campsites. Some non-beachfront sites can be impacted as well. If you suspect there may be problems with flooding, please call the park for more current information at (949) 496-6172.
- Check in time is 2PM. Very little to no shade in majority of sites.
- Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or
trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park.
- Doheny is reservable Year-Round.

- Water related activities such as as swimming, surfing, etc.
that involve body contact, may be restricted due to water quality.
Dogs are allowed to the campground. They must be leashed and attended to by an adult at all times. Dogs are not allowed on the beach at any time. There is no extra charge for bringing a dog and no proof of vaccination is required.

The beach is located on Del Obispo Street off Pacific Coast Highway at Dana Point.
