Don't move firewood: Please protect the Pacific Northwest from invasive species by obtaining or purchasing your firewood at or near your camping destination. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by buying and burning your firewood locally.

DescriptionDetroit Lake State Park is located along the north shore of Detroit Lake. The park offers a variety of campsites, modern restrooms with electricity and showers, boat ramps, boat moorage and an accessible fishing dock. Detroit Lake is known for its fishing, boating of all types, water skiing, jet skiing, scenery and wildlife. The campground offers daytime and evening programs, children's crafts, and a Junior Ranger program. There are facilities for playing horseshoes, volleyball and basketball; two playgrounds and three designated swim areas. Firewood and ice are available for sale.
The park's Visitor Center offers a free cup of coffee and an assortment of items for sale including: park souvenirs and apparel, games, educational books and toys.
Those who need to register extra vehicles or have reserved boat slips will need to come to the registration booth. Check in time is 4pm.

Most of the campground is closed from October through mid April. The F Loop is first-come, first serve. F loop will open for reservations again mid-March.
Beginning in Fall 2014 the F loop will be open for reservations year round.
Boat slips at Detroit Lake will be closed to reservations during August and September due to unpredictable water levels. They will be available on a first-come, first serve basis at the park. For boat slip reservations mid-April through July call 800-452-5687.
There is no dump station at the park. The nearest dump station is 18 miles west.
Generators are not allowed at Detroit Lake State Rec. Area.
The park has a strict vehicle policy, allowing a MAXIMUM of 2 vehicles per campsite. A second vehicle is charged $5/night (increasing to $7 May 1, 2014) paid upon arrival at the park.
*Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days will be charged a fee equal to the nightly/daily site fee for each night/day canceled as well as the $8 transaction fee.
Please be aware that only the person whose name is on the reservation may access, change or cancel the reservation.
You can stay 14 consecutive nights in a single campground, and may return after spending at least three nights out of the park (it can be another state park campground; in fact, we recommend you DO select another state park campground). The maximum time allowed within any Oregon State Park is 14 nights within any 17 night period.
Customers who wish to secure more than one site within a park for a continuous date period in order to accommodate their reservation request (i.e. split reservation), should be aware that the $8.00 reservation fee would apply to each site reserved. Reservation fee adjustments will not be made after reservations have been confirmed using the internet reservation service. If you are viewing inventory and find you are unable to secure one site to accommodate your request please consider calling the call center at 1-800-452-5687 to make your reservation.
Discount programs which may be offered through the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department cannot be processed when making an internet reservation. For additional information on discount programs call the OPRD Information Center at 1-800-551-6949 or visit us online at www.OregonStateParks.org.
Reservations can be made 24 hours a day, from 2 days to 9 months in advance. Campsite availability is based on call center hours, meaning sites become available when the call center opens.
Call center hours are: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
