Description

Del Valle Regional Park, part of the East Bay Regional Park District, is located in a valley framed by oak-covered hills. The centerpiece of the park is a five-mile long lake, with all kinds of water-oriented recreation, surrounded by 4,316 acres of beautiful land for hiking, horseback riding, and nature study. Del Valle is also the eastern gateway to the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, 28 miles of scenic back country trail.

Geography:

Del Valle is located about 10 miles south of Livermore, CA, on the east side of San Francisco Bay.

Recreation:

Del Valle offers two swimming beaches, with lifeguards on duty during posted periods. Visitors to Del Valle may rent motorboats, patio boats, peddle boats, canoes, and kayaks at the marina, and any size boat may be launched at the public boat ramp. Boaters need to be aware of the Invasive Mussel Prevention Program & mandatory inspections. See the mussel prevention program page for more information. There is an abundance of landscaped picnic grounds, some of them reservable for large groups by calling the Reservations Department at 1-888-EBPARKS (1-888-327-2757), Option 2 (5 days advance notice). Facilities:

The Del Valle Family Campground has tent campsites and sites with water, sewage and electrical (50/30/20) hookups. The sites are served by centrally located toilet and shower facilities. Nearby Attractions:

Del Valle is near many Northern California attractions including the Livermore Valley Wine Country. The cities of Oakland and Berkeley are just over an hour away, and a longer drive takes visitors to either San Francisco or the Napa and Sonoma valleys.

Alerts and Important Information
CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY:
  • For cancellations done over 3 days/72 hours in advance you must pay an $8.00 non-refundable cancellation fee per site you cancel, in addition to forfeiting the non-refundable $8.00 service fee per site you paid when you made your reservation. If you had made changes to your reservation, and paid an $8 change fee, the change fee(s) will not be refunded.
  • SITE FEES: You forfeit all site fees under THREE DAYS from the day you cancel.
  • REFUNDS: After calculating all service and site fees you currently owe, any remaining credit balance will be refunded. No refunds will be given for rain during your stay.
  • An $8 non-refundable service fee will be charged for each change to your reservation.

RESERVATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY

PARKING:
  • The first vehicle is included with your reservation; a second vehicle will be charged an Extra Vehicle Fee of $8 per night upon arrival at the park.
  • The 2 vehicles must fit on the paved parking pad
  • Parking for a 3rd vehicle may be available in the campground overflow parking lot; however space is not guaranteed.
  • No more than one extra vehicle per site will be allowed in overflow parking, and overflow parking space is NOT guaranteed.
CHOOSING YOUR SITE:
  • Reservations are SITE-SPECIFIC; make sure the site you choose meets your needs.
  • Only two sites per household may be reserved per date.
ARRIVAL:
  • Entry gates are locked every night: no vehicle entry possible after 10:00pm each night until gates are re-opened at 8:00am the next morning.
  • If you are going to miss the first night of camping but you still intend to camp at the park, please call the Del Valle Park staff at (510) 544-3139 and let them know when you expect to arrive. If you do not arrive at the park for your first night of camping and do not call by 10 a.m. the next day to inform park staff that you are still coming, your campsite will be given away.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • NO UNPROCESSED/NATURAL FIREWOOD is allowed into the park. Family campground kiosks at Del Valle have firewood for purchase.
  • GENERATORS ARE NOT ALLOWED at this campground. All sites have a 10 ft. picnic table and a fire circle with an adjustable grate which can be used for barbeques. Hookup sites have electricity (30 amp), sewer and water connections.
  • MINORS: Must furnish park staff with written consent of and the full name, residence and telephone of parent or guardian. The consent letter must contain the dates and park name. Please review our Juvenile Check-In Policy
CAMPGROUND DISTURBANCES:
  • Notify Park Police by calling 911 from the CAMPGROUND PAYPHONE, or call 510-881-1833 from a MOBILE PHONE regarding AFTER-HOURS problems that need police attention.
  • All persons at a campsite may be removed if there is a violation of state law, Ordinance 38 or campground rules. The period of expulsion shall be for the full period remaining on the camping reservation. Persons removed are not eligible for refunds for unused fees. It shall be unlawful to refuse to vacate a campground and leave District parklands when requested under this Section.

Del Valle Regional Park is located on Del Valle Road, off Mines Road, south of Livermore. Exit I-580 eastbound or westbound in Livermore at North Livermore Avenue. Head south and proceed through town (North Livermore Avenue will become South Livermore Avenue in town, then becomes Tesla Road). About 1.5 miles outside town, turn right at Mines Road, go about 3.5 miles, and continue straight on Del Valle Road (Mines Road turns left). The park entrance is about four miles ahead.
