2013 Reservation/Transaction Fees:

In addition to the park facility use fee, there is a nightly reservation/transaction fee. Internet reservations, the per night fee is $4.56. Call Center, the per night fee is $4.61. Walk-In transactions at the park, the per night fee is $4.51. Reservation/Transaction Fees are Non-Refundable.


Cancellation Fee Policy Change-Effective May 1, 2013:

To better serve our Maryland Park Service customers, we are changing our cancellation policy to a reservation cancellation service charge of $6 per reservation; except for Assateague Island State Park, which will remain at $6 per night.

Description

Picture perfect panoramic views! This park serves covers 481 acres and offers a wide variety of wildlife, mountain streams, and scenic overlooks. It is located on a 16-mile stretch of a mountain named for Daniel Cresap, one of the first settlers in Allegany County. The primary feature of the park is an Olympic size pool that offers an accessible ramp for visitors with disabilities and a fenced wading pool. A modern bathhouse and concession stand serves the area during the summer. Picnic tables are located throughout the park, and include accessible tables. Four pavilions are available for family and group picnics.

POOL:
Pool is open Wednesdays through Mondays. Memorial Day Weekend thru Labor Day Weekend. CLOSED ON TUESDAYS

HOURS: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm. Pool Hours are subject to change. Visitors are encouraged to call the park to confirm pool hours.

$4.00 per person Children 5 and under - FREE.

The big water slide is open!

Bathroom facilities near the pavilions will not be available April 15, 2013 to July 14, 2013 due to renovations. Port-a-Johns will be available at the pavilions.

ALCOHOL POLICY:

The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins and motorhomes.

Alcohol permits will only be issued through a reservation for a designated shelter, or other approved facility. A $35 fee will be charged for each alcohol permit. Permits may be revoked for cause by Park Manager, their designee or a Natural Resources Police Officer.

Internet shelter reservations requiring an alcohol permit will need to contact the Call Center at 1-888-432-2267, Mon-Fri, 8 am - 8 pm to make your reservation.
