Shelter #1 (large): Shelter 1 can accommodate 100 people. Handicapped accessible. A restroom is about 140 feet from Shelter 1; a large parking area is about 120 feet away; and the lake is roughly 140 feet away. Sidewalk from parking area to shelter with handicap ramp to shelter. Shelter overlooks lake and is shaded. Small open area beneath shelter next to lake for games. Features electrical outlet, water spigot, two horseshoe pits (guests must bring their own horseshoes) and two fireplace grills on one side of shelter. No lights. Each shelter guest must pay applicable daily parking or admission fee. Please contact the park prior to the day of your event to make special arrangements to pay for all members of your party at one time. Please call the park directly to discuss ANY use of the picnic shelter beyond simple picnicking as a Special Use Permit may be required for other uses AND/OR additional fees may be required. Alcohol may not be displayed nor used in any open area per Virginia State Law; in enclosed areas IF allowed a license from the VA ABC Board may be required in addition to approval by the park via Special Use Permit.
