Please do not remove picnic tables from shelter at any time.
HOURS:
The Forest is open from Sunrise to Sunset. Goups using the Shelters must leave by Sunset.
ALCOHOL POLICY:
The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins and motorhomes. Permits may be issued upon request by the Park Manager for special events operating under a use agreement.
Alcohol permits will only be issued through a reservation for a designated shelter, or other approved facility. A $35 fee will be charged for each alcohol permit. Permits may be revoked for cause by Park Manager, their designee or a Natural Resources Police Officer.
Internet shelter reservations requiring an alcohol permit will need to contact the Call Center at 1-888-432-2267, Mon-Fri, 8 am - 8 pm to make your reservation.

FIREWOOD RESTRICTION:
Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, the Maryland Department Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you from home when visiting a DNR property.

PETS ALLOWED:
Pets must be leashed at all times.
TRASH FREE:
Maryland State Parks are 'Trash Free'. All trash must be packed out. Bring large garbage bags to remove trash.
SHELTER AMENITIES:
Handicap accessible(unpaved access). Easy access for caterers. Grills. Fireplace. Electric. Drinking water available. Less than 150 ft from parking and restroom. Next to horseshoe pit. Open play area nearby. 30+ parking spaces.
DAY USE SERVICE CHARGE:
In addition to the shelter rental charge, there is a $3/per vehicle charge into the park. Out of state residents add $2 to all service charges.
