DescriptionBrunet Island is a 1,224 acre park framed by the Chippewa and Fisher Rivers. There are ample recreation opportunities including boating, fishing and canoeing among the islands formed by the confluence of the two rivers. Vistors can also hike, bike, picnic and more.Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important Information Firewood Notice: Currently, firewood is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park, Trail or Forest properties from out of state or from more than 25 miles away from the destination campground.
In addition, firewood that has been in a Wisconsin EAB quarantined area is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood nearby or at the property you are going to. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline 1-877-303-WOOD (9663) for information before packing for a trip.
South Campground is open year-round, although sites are not plowed during the winter. All sites are available on a first come-first served basis during times for which reservations are not accepted.Vehicle admission stickers are required. Click here for cost of the sticker. Showers and flush toilets are open approximately mid-May through mid September. Getting There:Brunet Island is located just north of the city of Cornell in northern Chipppewa County. Take State Hwy '64' to Park Road.
