Brazos Bend State Park, TX

Description

Entrance fees:
$5 per day, per person 13 and over.
$3 per day, per person Texas residents 65 on 9/1/95 or after.
A $2.00 per person, per day fee will be charged if 8 person campsite limit is exceeded. Park will only more than 8 people per site if other like sites are unavailable.
Gate Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-10pm, Friday-Sunday 7am-10pm.
An excess vehicle fee will be charged for all vehicles over the limit of 2 per site.

Alerts and Important Information

HUNT DATES 2009-2010: Nov. 17-19, Dec. 15-17
The entire park will be closed from 8am the 1st day of the hunt & reopen at 5pm on the last day of the hunt.

The Observatory books Friday nights for groups of 30-100 at $10/person. Interested groups need to contact the Observatory directly.

Office Hours: Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm Year Round Sat 7am to 10pm & Sun 7am to 5pm Year Round Park gates close at 10pm.
Campers will not be given the gate combo over the phone, must be in the park to receive gate combo.
Hunters camping in the park - Only Shelters can be reserved, call the park for reservations.
CHECK IN: All campers are required to check in at the park headquarters before occupying a site.

PAYMENT: You may pay by cash, check (with valid drivers license), travelers check or credit card (Discover, MasterCard or Visa).

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Public consumption or display of an open container of an alcoholic beverage is prohibited.

PETS: Pets must be attended and on a six-foot leash at all times. Pets are not allowed in any park buildings, cabins, or shelters.

FIREWOOD: Gathering of firewood is prohibited.

CHANGES TO RESERVATIONS: Any changes made to reservations may be calculated at new rates, and will be charged an administrative fee.
Check-in and check-out times subject to change without notice.

CONFIRMED RESERVATION: If your reservation is confirmed, your site will be held on the day of arrival no matter what time you arrive at the park You do not need to call the park. If you do not show up by 9am the following morning, your site will be released and reservations cancelled.

Additional charges may be incurred at the park for entrance fees and other use fees.

REFUND POLICY: The majority of sites - if you cancel and/or make changes more than 2 days prior to arrival, you will receive a full refund minus a $5 admin fee per site plus any reservation fees. Within 48 hours prior to arrival or if you do not go to the park, you will lose the first nights payment.
Group Sites of $100 or more per day - If you cancel and/or make changes more than 60 days prior to arrival, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 admin fee per site plus any reservation fees. Within 60 days prior arrival, you will lose the first nights payment. If you do not go to the park, no refund is given. To cancel a reservation, contact Customer Service at (512) 389-8900, 7 days a week.

From Houston: Take US 59 south to Crabb River Road/FM 2759 exit. Turn left (East) onto FM 2759. Go about 2.5 miles. Continue through the intersection. Road changes name to FM 762 (South). Continue for 16.5 miles. Park is on the left-(Park is 19 miles from Crabb River Rd exit). Stay on 762 until you reach the park. From East Houston: Take US 288 South (Nolan Ryan Freeway) to Rosharon. Turn west onto FM 1462. Go 10 miles and turn north onto FM 762. Park is 1.5 miles on the right.
