Overview

Boyington Mill Campground is located on the Little Truckee River, just 15 minutes from Truckee. Visitors enjoy the area for its fishing, abundant hiking opportunities and off-road trails. Stampede and Boca reservoirs are nearby for boating and swimming.

Natural Features:

The campground is situated on the banks of the Little Truckee River, which is known as one of Northern California's best catch-and-release fly-fishing streams. It is situated among sparse Jeffrey pine and fir trees and shade within the campground is limited.

Recreation:

Fly-fishing for rainbow and brown trout in the Little Truckee River is a popular activity enjoyed by visitors to the campground. The surrounding area offers hiking, mountain biking and off-road vehicle trails.

Facilities:

The campground offers single-family campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring and grill. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no drinking water available at the site.

Nearby Attractions:

Boca Reservoir is a couple miles south of the campground. Stampede Reservoir is less than six miles north. Boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing are popular activities on both scenic lakes.

A camp store is located at Stampede Reservoir's Logger Campground. A variety of camping and fishing supplies, ice, groceries and souvenirs are available there.

Lake Tahoe is located about 30 minutes from the campground. Tahoe offers excellent boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking and scenic driving opportunities, as well as popular dining, shopping and lodging options.

Know Before You Go

In accordance with standard industry practices, Tahoe Recreation will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the "second vehicle" in each single family campsite, and on the "third and fourth vehicle" in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
Drinking water is not available; campers must bring their own supply
An additional $2 per day fee is charged for reservations during Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends
Off-road vehicle use is prohibited within the campground
