Overview

Boiling Springs Cabin is located in a narrow mountain valley 24 miles north of Crouch, Idaho, situated between a hot springs, a stream, and the Middle Fork Payette River. The surrounding mountains are steep and heavily forested, though the immediate area around the cabin has little shade. Summer days are warm; nights are cool. Popular activities include fishing, hiking, big game hunting, wildlife watching, and scenery viewing. Numerous hiking, biking, horse, and ATV trails are in the vicinity. In the winter, many miles of groomed snowmobile trails are right out your front door. Winter snows are heavy and temperatures are cold.

This rustic cabin is available to rent from mid-May to mid-February and can sleep a maximum of six people. One double bed and three single beds with mattresses are provided, but no bedding is available. You must bring your own. A couch, table and chairs, sink (no potable water) propane cook range, and wood stove are located in the front room. Some dishes, pots, and pans may be available, but please bring your own utensils, lighting, toilet paper, ice, water, and garbage bags. Firewood is provided during winter months. A vault toilet, picnic table, and fire ring are located outside the cabin.

  • Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
  • Potable water is not available.
  • Please do not use tents, motor homes, or RVs at the cabin, as camping is not allowed at this site. Boiling Springs Campground is nearby.
  • Parking is limited.
  • In summer months, bring your own firewood and ax. In winter, firewood is supplied but may need to be split.
  • You are responsible for the removal of your own trash from the cabin.
  • Neither the concessionaire nor the Forest Service is responsible for personal items left at the cabin. Be sure you take everything out that you bring in.
  • You are responsible for cleaning the cabin before departing.
  • Renter must obtain the combination to cabin gate and door from ReserveAmerica prior to arrival at the cabin. The padlock combination will be on your confirmation letter; however, the combination may change without notice. It is your responsibility to call 4 days prior to your arrival to confirm the security combination.   • Camp host is located at Hot Springs Campground, east of the Garden Valley Ranger Station, during the summer months.
  • Livestock such as saddle, pack, or draft animals is not allowed at this site.
  • Access may be difficult in fall and late winter depending on changes in weather. Check local conditions for access to the cabin during these times.
  • There is no road access to the cabin in winter; all access is over snow. Distance to the cabin from parking is approximately 11 miles.
  • No refunds for bad weather.

    In summer months, from Crouch, take the Middle Fork Road (Forest Road 698) north 24 miles to the cabin, which is 7 miles north of Trail Creek Campground on Forest Road 698, just past Boiling Springs Campground. Alternate Route: Take FR 698 from Crouch to Trail Creek Campground (17 miles). Turn right on FR 671 to Silver Creek Plunge. Turn left at FR 678 (19 miles). Drive on FR 678 for 7 miles to the cabin. Total mileage from Crouch to the cabin via the alternate route is 38 miles.

    In winter months, all access is over snow. From Crouch, take the Middle Fork Road (Forest Road 698) north 13 miles to the snowmobile parking lot at the end of the plowed road on FR 698, just north of Tie Creek Campground. Distance to the cabin from the trailhead is 11 miles.
