Overview

Boca Spring Campground is located a mile east of Boca Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest, 15 minutes from Truckee, California. Visitors enjoy the area for its boating, swimming, fishing and abundant trail opportunities.

Natural Features:

The campground is heavily forested with towering Jeffrey pine and fir trees. Boca Spring feeds a pretty meadow within the site.

Recreation:

Boca Reservoir is just a mile east of the campground. Boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing are popular activities. A boat ramp is located near Boca Campground on the southwest end of the reservoir.

The Little Truckee River is nearby and offers some of Northern California's best catch-and-release fly-fishing. The surrounding area offers hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicle trails.

Facilities:

The campground offers single-family sites and one group site that can accommodate up to 25 people and eight vehicles. Picnic tables, campfire rings and grills are provided, as are vault toilets and drinking water. Firewood is available for purchase from the host.

Nearby Attractions:

Stampede Reservoir is 9 miles north, where boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing are popular activities.

The Camp Store is located just inside Logger Campground on Stampede Reservoir. A variety of camping and fishing supplies, ice, groceries and souvenirs are available.

Lake Tahoe is a convenient 30 minutes away. Tahoe offers excellent boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking and scenic driving opportunities, as well as dining, shopping and lodging options.

Know Before You Go

In accordance with standard industry practices, Tahoe Recreation will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the "second vehicle" in each single family campsite, and on the "third and fourth vehicle" in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
Additional $2/day fee charged for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day weekends
Off-road vehicles can only be used to enter/exit the facility; no recreational riding within the campground
Walk-in sites available, weather permitting

From Reno, take I-80 west to Hirschdale Exit. Go north approximately 3 miles then turn right and go 1 mile to the campground.

From Truckee, take I-80 east to Hirschdale exit. Turn left and travel approximately 3 miles then turn right and go 1 mile to the campground.
