Description

Perched atop the highest point in southern Wisconsin, Blue Mound State Park offers spectacular views along with unique geological features. The only Wisconsin State Park with a heated swimming pool is equipped with a lift for persons with disabilities. All campsites are wooded.

  • Sites 57 through 78 are 1st come/1st served bases only.
  • Reservations from 05/01 to 10/31 each year.
  • All sites are 1st come / 1st served from 11/01 to 04/30 - Walk in only when roads are snow covered. (Campground is not plowed)
  • Reservations for the rustic cabin are taken at the park, and are limited to people with disabilities. The cabin is reservable from 05/01 through 10/31 yearly. Please contact park for more information
  • Bike sites 1 - 3 are reservable from May 1 thru Oct 31.
    Bike sites 4 - 12 are available first come / first serve year round.
    When the trails are snow covered, access is by skiing only, hiking is prohibited on the groomed ski trails.

Shower/flush toilet buildings open approximately April 15, 2013; Shower/flush toilet buildings close approximately November 1, 2013. Dump station open approximately April 15, 2013; Dump Station Closes approximately November 1, 2013. These facilities are weather dependent and dates can change. Check with the property if you have questions.

Vehicle admission stickers are required. Click here for cost of the sticker. Motor vehicles are restricted to the designated parking area at the campsite. No more than 2 vehicles are allowed at a campsite, except as noted. For safety and environmental concerns, please back into the site and park single file.

NO PARKING is allowed on roadsides or shoulders. Ask at Vistor Station for extra parking locations.

  • POOL OPEN starting Memorial Day weekend, and daily, starting middle of June to Labor Day (weather permitting). Swimming pool is equipped with a lift for persons with disabilities.
  • POOL CHARGES are as follows: ages 13 and up: $2.00; ages 2 to 12: $1.00; ages 2 and under swim for free.
  • Pets are not allowed in the picnic areas, nature trails, or pool areas.
  • Park features a 10.5 miles single track Mt. Biking Trail.

Getting There:

The park is located 20 miles west of Madison, off U.S. Hwy 18 and 151. Exit on Cty Hwy F North (Blue Mounds exit). Turn left (west) on Cty Hwy ID. Proceed to the village of Blue Mounds, and turn right (north) on Mounds Road. The entrance to Blue Mound State Park is 1 mile north of the village of Blue Mounds.
