Overview

Beaver Meadows Campground is situated next to Beaver Meadows Lake near Marienville, Pennsylvania, and is shaded by a pine forest. Visitors enjoy fishing, canoeing and viewing a variety of waterfowl.

Natural Features:

Beaver Meadows Lake serves as a waterfowl refuge. It is surrounded by a mix of hardwoods and pines. Many wildlife viewing opportunities exist in the area, including blue heron, geese, deer and beavers.

The Allegheny National Forest in northwestern Pennsylvania, the state's only national forest, covers nearly a half-million acres and is populated primarily with black cherry, maple and other hardwoods.

Recreation:

Fishing, canoeing, hiking, picnicking and berry picking are all popular activities. The 7.1-mile Beaver Meadows Trail offers great wildlife and waterfowl viewing opportunities.

Although the lake is not stocked, it supports fishable populations of bluegill, pumpkinseed, yellow perch, bullhead and an occasional bass. A boat ramp is available on the lake, though no motors are permitted on the lake. Salmon Creek, below the dam, is a popular trout stream.

Facilities:

Each campsite has a parking spur, tent pad, campfire ring and picnic table. A playground, grassy fields, vault toilets and hand-pump drinking water are available at the campground.

Each campsite is limited to two vehicles: one wheeled camping unit and one tent; extra vehicles will be charged an additional fee at the campground
This is a primitive site with no hookups
Some sites are available on a first come, first served basis
No motorboats allowed on the lake
No livestock allowed
No swimming allowed
Roads are not paved

From the center of town in Marienville, Pennsylvania, turn left on North Forest Street (Forest Road 128) and go north 5 miles until you arrive at the campground entrance sign. Turn right at the sign onto Forest Road 282 and continue until you arrive at the campground.
