H-Loop Pet Policy Change:
After reviewing the pet policy and in an effort to meet customer demand, Assateague State Park will be adding pet friendly campsites within the entire H- electric camping loop effective Friday May 24, 2013.
2013 Reservation/Transaction Fees:
In addition to the park facility use fee, there is a nightly reservation/transaction fee. Internet reservations, the per night fee is $4.56. Call Center, the per night fee is $4.61. Walk-In transactions at the park, the per night fee is $4.51. Reservation/Transaction Fees are Non-Refundable.
Cancellation Fee Policy Change-Effective May 1, 2013: To better serve our Maryland Park Service customers, we are changing our cancellation policy to a reservation cancellation service charge of $6 per reservation; except for Assateague Island State Park, which will remain at $6 per night. Assateague State Park, Maryland's only ocean park is located on Assateague Island, a barrier island bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the west by Sinepuxent Bay. Two miles of ocean beaches make this park popular for camping, swimming, beachcombing, sunbathing, surfing and fishing. The island's bay side offers canoeing and kayaking in secluded coves and marsh areas with unbelievable wildlife viewing opportunities. Alerts and Important InformationYouth Group Camping Reservations: Youth Groups must call the Reservation Call Center at 1-888-432-2267 to reserve Youth Group Sites. Maryland Park Service Youth Group Pass is required. FREE WIFI IS AVAILABLE AT THE ASSATEAGUE STATE PARK CAMP STORE LOCATED AT THE DAY USE AREA. ASSATEAGUE:
OFFICE HOURS 2013: CHECK IN BEGINS AT 2 P.M. No camper is allowed to check-in prior to that time. You must register during office hours, no late arrival permitted. No camper or visitor may enter without first checking in at Ranger Station.
PETS are permitted within J-Loop; H-Loop Sites: 3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13; and I-Loop Sites: 37,38,39,40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49,50,51; and adjoining beach area from southern H-Loop cross-over south to the National Park Boundary.
