Description

Allaire State Park is just over 3,000 acres in size. The day use area has a picnic area with tables and grills. Hiking and multi use trails are throughout the park. Annual trout stocking of the Manasquan River provides excellent opportunities for freshwater fishing. Deer hunting is permitted in designated areas of the park. Fishing and hunting is subject to Division of Fish and Wildlife regulations. Please contact the park office for more information.


The Pine Creek Railroad, a narrow gauge railroad, is located within Allaire State Park's day use area. Train rides are available April through October on weekends and daily in July and August. For more inforamation, please call 732.938.5524 or visit their website http://www.njmt.org/.


Historic Allaire Village is located within Allaire State Park's day use area. The historic buildings feature artifacts of the 19th century and are brought to life by interpretors in period clothing who demonstrate crafts and explain the history of Allaire Village in the 1830's. The outdoor areas of Allaire Village are accessible year round. Geography:

Allaire State Park is located in Monmouth County on the New Jersey Coastal plain and has sandy soils. The forest is a mix of oak, cedar and pine, and is on the northern fringe of the pine barrens with iron tinged waterways. The Manasquan River flows through the park.

Facilities:

Family camping facilities are located in the northwestern portion of the park, approximately one mile west of Park Office. There are 45 campsites, 6 shelters and 4 yurts; each site containing a picnic table and a fire ring; each yurt and shelter site have a barbecue grill. Modern sanitary facilities, showers and drinking water are within walking distance of all sites. There are no water, electric or sewer connections for recreational vehicles.

Group sites are located in the southern portion of the park. There are 6 sites and each site can accommodate a group of up to 50 people. Group sites have composting toilets, a water pump, picnic tables, barbecue grills, lantern hooks and fire rings. The group sites do not have flush toilets or showers and the use of family camp ground facilities is prohibited. Minimum 7 people for group sites. Advance reservations recommended.

CHECK IN – 12 Noon for Tent/RV sites. 3:00PM for Yurts, Shelters and Group sites. If arriving after park office hours (8AM – 4:30PM) please proceed to your reserved site.

CHECK OUT – 12 Noon for all sites.

FACILITY HOURS - Park office is open during the hours 8:00AM to 4:30PM. Park office is located one mile east of campground on Rt. 524.

AGE REGULATIONS - Campsites must be registered and occupied by a responsible person 18 years of age or older.

OCCUPANCY - Limited to 6 individuals per campsite unless a group site. Only 2 vehicles permitted on any campsite. There is an additional $5 fee for extra vehicles to park in designated area.

VISITORS - Visitors are permitted from 8AM to 8PM.

QUIET HOURS - From 10PM until 6AM, and are strictly enforced. Violators of this policy may be evicted. Refunds will not be issued to evicted campers.

ANIMAL ALERTS - No pets and/or livestock are allowed.

RESTRICTIONS - Alcohol is prohibited. No additional tents or equipment can be set up on a yurt or shelter site.

GENERATORS - May be used except during quiet hours. If the use of a generator is deemed unreasonably loud by the facility staff then individual use of a generator may be prohibited/limited.

GROUP CAMPSITES – NO SHOWER FACILITIES AVAILABLE. The group sites do not have flush toilets or showers and the use of the family campground facilities is prohibited.

FIRES - All fires need to comply with the NJ Forest Fire regulations and are to be built in the fire rings provided at each site. Only dead and downed wood may be used for fuel. No chainsaws are allowed in campgrounds, and cutting down trees, alive or dead is prohibited. Firewood can be purchased at the park office.

From the North: Take the Garden State Parkway (GSP) South to exit 98 and follow Allaire State Park signs onto I-195 West. Take exit 31-B off I-195 and make a right at the first traffic light onto Allaire Road (Route 524 East). The campground entrance is approximately 1/2 mile from the light on the left-hand side.


From the South: Take the Garden State Parkway (GSP) North to exit 98 and follow Allaire State Park signs onto I-195 West. Take exit 31-B off 1-195 and make a right at the first traffic light onto Allaire Road (Route 524 East). The campground entrance is approximately 1/2 mile from the light on the left-hand side.


From the West: Take I-195 East to exit 31-B. At the first traffic light make a right onto Allaire Road (Route 524 East). The campground entrance is approximately 1/2 mile from the light on the left-hand side.


From the New Jersey Turnpike: Take exit 7A onto I-195 East to exit 31-B. At the first traffic light make a right onto Allaire Road (Route 524 East). The campground entrance is approximately 1/2 mile from the light on the left-hand side.
