Please Note: If you are reserving an Organized Youth/Adult group campsite, you must meet the following conditions: in order to occupy this site, you must have a group of five or more minors up to 18 years of age who are members of an organization camping with its adult leaders such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Explorers, church groups, etc.; or a group of 10 more adults (18 years of age or older) who are members of an organization such as charter organizations, ROTC, private clubs, etc. If you do not meet the above qualifications, you are not allowed to camp in our group camp and will be asked to leave. Large families are not allowed in our group camps.

If you are a customer booking a Youth Group site, you MUST select the Youth check box as the Primary Occupant.

Description

Illinois Beach State Park is a unique and captivating natural resource for all to enjoy. Stretching leisurely for six and a half miles along the sandy shore of Lake Michigan in northern Illinois, Illinois Beach State Park encompasses the only remaining beach ridge shoreline left in the state. The 4,160 acre park, managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, consists of two separate areas that offers ample opportunities for swimming, picnicking, hiking, fishing, & camping. More than 650 species of plants have been recorded here, including dozens of colorful wildflowers & large variety of grasses beautifully seen in the spring, summer, & fall . Anytime during the year, wildlife viewing opportunities are everywhere.

Alerts and Important Information

Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park is open year round, but the campground is closed January through March.

A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party.

For a campsite, a "Single Family" consisting of Father and/or Mother and unmarried minor children or "Single Group" consisting of no more than 4 adults without children all 18 years of age or older.

Special camping rate reductions apply to Illinois residents only.

Group/Family size and number of vehicles cannot exceed the established maximums.

The maximum length of camping stay is 14 nights in any 30 day period.

Campers MUST check into the campground by 10:00 p.m and set up their campsite immediately; so as not to disturb neighboring campers.

Responsible use of alcohol is permitted in part of the Campground only. Absolutely No Alcohol allowed anywhere on the beach, picnic areas, and hiking trails.

All pets must be on a leash and in owners presence at all times (No pet is to be left alone). Pet owner's are responsible for their animal's waste and must dispose of it properly. Pets are not allowed anywhere on the beach, or nature preserve hiking trails

Campground quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m..

All visitors for the campground are required to check in at the permit booth with information on the site number and name of person they are visiting to gain entrance into the campground. Reminder: Only 2 vehicles allowed per site at any given time.

All visitors are required to leave the park at or before 9:00pm.

Groups of 25 or more are required to register in advance with the park office.

From the South: I-294 north to R173 east (approx. 1 mile) to Rt. 41, turn right on Rt. 41 (approx. 3 mile) to Wadsworth Road (stop light intersection) turn left heading east on Wadsworth. Wadsworth Road will dead end right into the park (approx. 8 mile).

From the North: I-94 South to Waukegan Rt. 41 (Left Exit). Once on Rt. 41 continue to Wadsworth Road (second stop light) turn left heading east on Wadsworth. Wadsworth will dead end right into the park.
