  • Reservations 05/01 to 10/31 each year.
  • Sites are on 1st come/1st served when not on reservations.

      One must carry all camping gear, including drinking water, to the campsites which are 1 to 2.5 miles from where vehicles are parked. Campers should try to allow ample time to reach the campsite before dark.

      • Carts are not provided.
      • Parking is allowed in designated sites only. Tents may not be set up on shoreline areas.
      • Garbage must be packed out of the site. No showers are available.
      • All sites are accessible by off-road bicycles.

      All sites are wooded. Most sites have open-air toilets, unless they share a pit toilet with another site. Open-air toilets only have a 4- foot wooden back screen. There are no walls, roof, or door. They will not see another site from their site. All sites have shoreline access to Lake Michigan, with the exception of site 14, which is on the Europe Lake Shoreline.

      Site amenities include pit toilet (no toilet paper is provided), two wooden benches, a combination fire ring/grill, and a metal food storage box. There are no picnic tables at the sites. Drinking water is available at the picnic area hand pump, from May through October, and at the park office year-round. Dead and downed wood may be collected for firewood. Porcupines and raccoons can be a problem.

    Take Hwy 42 North, 2 miles east of Ellison Bay. Turn right on Cty Hwy NP and follow for 3 miles. Cty Hwy NP ends at the entrance to Newport State Park.
