Description

Fair Haven Beach State Park has one of the finest public lakefronts in upstate New York, with high bluffs above sandy beaches and hilly woodlands. The park features 1500 fee of beautiful sandy beach including 600 feet of guarded swimming area. Inland, Sterling Pond and Creek are centrally located amongst the geological transition between wood and water. Campsites and cabins are nestled within the gently rolling woodlands. Fishing and boating opportunities are plentiful in Lake Ontario and the adjoining Little Sodus Bay.

Fair Haven Beach State Park is located in upstate New York on the Lake Ontario shoreline.

Recreation:

Visitors here enjoy sunbathing, swimming and diving boards, biking, boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking, and camping. Winter snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing are very popular.

Facilities:

Park facilities include two sandy beaches separated by a diving channel with two boards. Boat rentals include row boats, paddle boats, canoes and kayaks which are only for use on the inland Sterling Pond. Three separate campgrounds and a 30 unit cabin colony each contain a centralized restroom building with showers. Two additional cabins and three cottages make up the self contained units available for reservation. Campgrounds consist of 46 electric sites and 138 non-electric sites. A ball field, hiking trail, camp store, concession, 5 picnic areas, 2 family picnic tent rentals and 2 shelters (one heated) are also offered as an attraction to patrons. With fantastic scenic views and an 18 hole golf course this makes for a unique and accommodating destination.

Alerts and Important Information

To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.

The swimming area is schedule to open the 3rd week of June. Please check back here or contact the park directly for further updates and details.

CAMPSITES

  • Reservations for campsites may be booked 9 months in advance for a 2-night minimum stay. However, if you make your campsite reservation within 7 days of your arrival you can book a 1-night minimum stay. This rule only applies to campsites NOT cabins or cottages.
  • Maximum of 2 vehicles allowed per campsite. Additional cars will be charged a fee.

    CABINS/COTTAGES

  • Cabins are a 2-night minimum during non-peak season.
  • During Peak season, cabins minimum stays run 7 or 14 days only.
  • Cabins 9 and 12 have no running water. Access Pass is not accepted for Full Service Cottages. PETS:
  • Household pets only; caged or on a leash no more than 6 feet.
  • Proof of rabies inoculation, accepted by certificate only, tags not accepted.
  • Pets not allowed in beach areas.
