Description

Eel Weir State Park is located on the Oswegatchie River, two miles from Black Lake. The park fronts the river, which is navigable upstream to the lake. Both waterways are known for excellent bass fishing and are ideal for canoes or rowboats. As it is small and secluded, the park is a perfect place to get away from it all.

Eel Weir State Park is located south of Ogdensburg.

Recreation:

Visitors love to go boating, fishing, and to camp and picnic here.

Facilities:

The park has boat launch sites, a picnic area, and numerous campsites.

Outdoor fun can be found nearby, at Kring Point State Park, Coles Creek State Park, Higley Flow State Park, Jacques Cartier State Park, and St. Lawrence State Park Golf Course.

Alerts and Important Information

All sites will be walk-up only for the 2010 season.

To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.

  • Pets must have proof of current rabies inoculation. Pets must be on a 6 foot leash and not left unattended.
  • Firearms and weapons are strictly prohibited.
  • Peak season: A person may be the primary site occupant for 14 total days of camping within a 16 day period. S/he must leave the park for 48 hours once they have stayed the maximum number of days allowed before beginning a new reservation.
