DELTA LAKE STATE PARK, NY

Status: Closed through Thu May 13 2010   Season Dates
Max reservation window: Sat Aug 21 2010   Later Dates

Description

Delta Lake State Park, open year-round for rest and relaxation, is located on a peninsula extending into Delta Reservoir. The terrain is wooded and generally flat. Visitors can enjoy the day in one of many picnic areas or spend time exploring the park's miles of hiking and nature trails. A boat launch, plus shoreline fishing for trout, pike, bass, bullhead and perch, make the park popular with anglers. A sandy beach with swimming in the summer and cross-country ski trails in the winter make this park a year-round outdoor destination.

Geography:

Delta Lake State Park is located on a peninsula extending from the southeast shore of Delta Lake, in Oneida County.

Recreation:

Activities in the park include boating, biking, fishing, hiking, camping, and picnicking in the summer, and ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing in the winter.

Facilities:

The park has a beach with lifeguards (open Memorial Day-Labor Day), boat launch sites, campsites, dumping station and showers, a nature trail, picnic tables and pavilions, and a playground, almost all of which are accessible to disabled visitors. The campsites, ideal for families, have quiet hours at night, and each site has a six-foot table and a fire ring.
