OverviewBear Creek Campground lies southwest of the bustling city of Fort Worth, Texas. The campground sits along the lake for serene views of the water. Wildlife like deer, red-shouldered hawks, barred owls and woodpeckers can be spotted around the lake.Natural Features:The campground is perched between Benbrook Lake and the channel of Bear Creek. The lake, on the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, lies in the Grand Prairie region of north central Texas. Benbrook is partially within the city limits of Fort Worth, where there is easy access to urban amenities. Recreation:Visitors enjoy boating, picnicking, hiking and fishing. The lake is a noted fossil-hunting location, with opportunities to find fossilized sea life from the Late Cretaceous Period, dating back about 85 million years ago. Facilities:The campground offers 40 reservable sites with electric and water hookups. Additional amenities include hot showers, flush toilets and boat ramps at either end of the park. Campsites are level, open spaces. Nearby Attractions:Fort Worth hosts an annual stock show and rodeo.
