Willard Brook State Forest, MA

Description

Willard Brook's twenty-one campsites are spread beneath a pine canopy. The understory is mountain laurel which blooms spectacularly in June. Swimming and fishing opportunities in Willard Brook draw campers to this small campground.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our campers:

  • Alcoholic beverages prohibited in Massachusetts State campgrounds.
  • Pets are welcome in most campgrounds, but please keep them restrained, clean up after them and prevent them from disturbing others. Also, you must bring proof of rabies vaccination when camping with your pet.
  • Respect the 14-day camping limit. To ensure that many campers enjoy our parks, campers and camping equipment are limited to 14 cumulative days occupancy in any one park between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
  • Don't overcrowd your campsite. Please limit site occupancy to four people or one family (parents and children 17 or under). Please limit site equipment to two tents or one trailer (or RV) and one tent. Also, please no more than two vehicles per campsite.
  • Massachusetts law requires that children age 16 and under wear a helmet when bicycling. The MA DCR encourages all cyclists to wear a helmet and cycle safely.
  • Check-in time is 1:00 PM; Check out time is 11:00 AM.
  • Trailers longer than 20 feet may have difficult maneuvering into their site.Also no showers available.

From the Northeast:

Take Rte. 495 to Littleton; take the Rte. 119 Exit. Follow Rte. 119 West approximately 21 miles through West Townsend to the campground on the left.

From the West:

Follow Rte. 2 East to Rte. 31 North in Fitchburg. Follow Rte. 31 North through Fitchburg to the Town of Ashby and the intersection with Rte. 119 East. Follow Rte. 119 East approximately 0.5 miles to the campground entrance on the right

From the East:

Rte. 2 West to Fitchburg and Rte. 13 North. Follow Rte. 13 North to Rte. 119 West in West Townsend. Turn left onto Rte. 119. Follow Rte. 119 approximately 4 miles to the park entrance on the left.
